the process

I was thinking about what Steven Furtick said the other day at Innovate.  He was quite an interesting fellow. I was moved by his passion as a Christ-follower, no doubt. He talked a lot about “the process.”  He used the story of David from Kings to explain what he meant by the process.  That it [...]

Questions

I’m questioning everything these days. I don’t know why really, other than I’m just going through a season where I’m wondering why I do things the way I do them, or why the church does things the way she does them. It’s not a bad thing to me really, its just something I’m going through. [...]

Cindy Wall Celebration

No funeral took place yesterday afternoon. A celebration took place. Don’t get me wrong, there were no streamers or party hats, but a celebration took place. People still cried, and there was certainly sadness, but I can tell you that there was a peace about that place like few others I’ve attended. Cindy Wall will [...]

Skype Baptism

This post is part of Creative Chaos that takes place over at ragamuffinsoul.com You may have seen this already, but this was the Skype baptism of Cindy Wall. We were in Indiana, and Cindy and her close friends were in Auburn, Alabama. You don’t get to see something like this happen too often. We were [...]

My week

It has been one of those crazy weeks. I mean, just really up in the air. We experienced the loss of a close family friend on Sunday and unfortunatel I was unable to attend the funeral. Yesterday, our church lost a family member. Cindy Wall, who we had just baptized on Friday went to go [...]

What?

This may not make any sense to you, but I’m throwing it out there anyway. This is what I used to think about the Christian journey. It was the typical “mountain top” and “valley” thing you hear about where the peaks happen at a retreat and last for about two weeks and then its back [...]

A book giveaway is here again. We got a free copy of Pop Goes the Church by Tim Stevens last week at Granger CC. I’ve already read this great book, so I’m giving my new free copy away. I’m giving you until Thursday midnight to come up with a caption for the picture below. Comment [...]

James and John

I’m reading a book right now that I would highly encourage you to read. Its called Wide Awake and it’s by Erwin Rafael McManus (I love how he uses his whole name on every book he writes like he is the little lion in the Lion King being held up for all the other lions [...]

Linky Link

Its a short link list this week, but a good one. I am going to do something a little different and post the stuff I want you to see. Please go and visit these sites anyway, it will be good for you. This first one comes from Ben Witherington who I have been following for [...]

my yellow bracelet

So I’m wearing the famous yellow Livestrong bracelet. I’m not wearing it for the trendyness, although I immediately felt more trendy. Neither am I wearing it for the cancer thing, though I think that’s awesome as well. I’m wearing the bracelet as a reminder. I’m murdering my cynicism,  criticism, sarcasm, and passive aggressive comments. In [...]
