My Glory(ous)
Well, I wasn’t singing “My Glorious” by Delirious, but it seemed to be a fitting title for what just happened.
We’re doing several songs on Sunday which I have never memorized or even played through for that matter. On top of that, we didn’t have practice this week because it’s Thanksgiving and its just good to take a week off every once in a while. So, I listened to the songs, but haven’t had a chance to sit down and practice them until tonight. One of the songs is called “Glorious” and its by Chris Tomlin.
So I was singing through this song that says “Glorious, over us, You shall reign glorious…Majesty, and power, are Yours alone, forever,” and here’s what I was actually thinking. ” [this person] just went on staff with that guy who is becoming pretty well known, and that guy’s already connected with some seriously well known people. I need to keep in touch with him. That relationship could afford some great connections further down the road. I bet [this person's] gonna be pretty well known before long as well…etc, etc.”
Then suddenly Holy Spirit says, “Hey, whose glory are you singing about here?”
Humbling.
Frustrating, that my mind continues to wander to my own glory and not be content in His.

Glad to hear that you are thinking about humbleness.
