Passerby

Lately, I have really been getting back into music. That last comment sounds crazy since music is my life, so I should clarify. Sometimes, after you’re are around something nonstop, you get NOF syndrome (numbness of frequency). That is, you’re exposed to something so much that you just become numb to it and take it for granted.

I’ve been exposed to a genre that has changed that for me (I knew of this genre for a long time, but one individual in particular has sparked my interest to go exploring). And, in the process, I am seeing the beauty in music once again. I am listening for all the intricate movements through a song. Listening for the details of the painting that the artist is offering. It is refreshing.

The song below does necessarily fit the Americana sound, they are more of the jam band genre, which happens to be another favorite of mine. But as I listened to this song this morning and thought about some of the stuff that is coming up in the life of Cornerstone and the message that we’re trying to communicate, as well as the fact that I had just finished writing in a journal that says, “don’t waste your life” on the front, I thought, “man, that’s the last thing I want to be is just a passerby.” (Funny how that’s not really at all what the song is saying, but that’s what stuck in my head.) I don’t want to to just pass through and miss my opportunity to make a huge impact on the world. So here it is, Passerby.
