Ed Young on Marriage // well, sex in marriage, but its not dirty
Warning. If your kids read this, I’m just saying that it might have some “adult” content depending on whether you’ve had “that conversation.”
I admit it, I used to copy ideas from blog posts that I would read when I couldn’t come up with anything. I don’t like to do that, but this post was worthy of being copied. Ed Young put this video on his blog today as well as Matthew Paul Turner. I’m sure that other people also posted this video today as well, so there’s no reason why I shouldn’t be one of them. It’s an interview that Ed Young had on the Colbert Report about the series that Fellowship Church did on healthy marriages. Check it out. (Watch the second video as well, its worth it!)
I followed this story a while back when Fellowship Church first did this series and I’m with Ed on this one. The church doesn’t do the best job about talking about sex and marriage but Ed tackled this one head on and did a fantastic job of communicating a Biblical truth about healthy marriages and also how to demonstrate to the world that we’re not a bunch of crazies who can’t handle real life. That is, the church can talk about sex without making it a completely dirty thing. And, we can do it in such a way that The Early Show and The Colbert Report take notice. I love it. Makes us more credible I think. What do you think?

I followed this back when they started it and did a post about it back then when Ed Young did an interview on CNN and was pretty disgusted with how they handled the interview and equated Ed’s teaching to rape among a married couple. It was a lousy interview that he handled very well… all they tried to do was sand bag him for a good biblical principle.

Brian:
Can you get Rusty to preach this exact same message. Let me know and I’ll make sure Leslie is there.
