An Inward Movement // prompts an outward expression
One thing that’s been stirring in my mind lately is this idea that an inward movement will prompt an outward expression.
When I climb, and I complete a route, I give a little yell. When I watch a Bama game and we win say 36 to 0, I get really excited and jump around, all over the room. When I watch a race, and my guy wins say two in a row, you can bet there’s going to be some “yeah baby’s” coming from my mouth. All of these outward expressions begin with an inner movement of excitement of some sort.
The same is true of worship for me. When my heart is connected with Holy Spirit in a moment of embrace, an inner movement prompts an outward expression. It comes in the form of tears. It comes in the form of stopping to serve a friend. It comes in the form of diving deeper into the Word. It comes in the form of just needing to sit and listen. It comes in the form of raising my arms. It comes in the form of singing loudly. It comes in the form of giving myself freely for whatever my wife needs.
Worship is not about raising hands, or clapping at the end of a song, or weeping, or dancing. Worship is about the glory of the risen one, living a sacrificial life in response to the redemption found in Christ. So, let me be clear in saying that I’m not pressing an idea here that outward expressions are something that has to be seen by everyone in the room. But, I do think that an inward movement prompts an outward expression. I just don’t think the Spirit can move you and nothing actually happen.

I can see how you could put something about racing in the post but this whole business of 36-0 foolishness is uncalled for
