I’m A Story Guy // and maybe a touch a.d.d.
Last night (actually this could be true of about any time I’ve told a story, but we’ll stick to the specifics) I was telling a story to two people. As I told the story, I felt compelled to give background to the story that I was telling which happened to be an entirely differnt story, which added some length and most likely some confusion to what I was saying.
As I told this story, I noticed that one of the two individuals kept drifting off to other events happening in the room. That’s when it dawned on me. Perhaps my problem of telling more than one story when I’m telling a story is a bad thing for the attention span of my audience.
I can’t help it though. Its part of me the way I tell a story. One thing leads to another. Does this frustrate you?
