my own challenges // Sunday follow-up

One thing that is blatantly obvious to me is that when I’m afforded the opportunity to speak, God is usually brewing a message in me for quite a while before the actual moment comes around where the message is delivered. Furthermore, the same message usually continues to brew and reveal weaknesses/area of growth for me. This past Sunday is no exception.

For weeks, the message was living in me before it ever actually came out on paper or out of my mouth. And now, all week, God has been saying, “hey buddy, remember that thing you said on Sunday, who was that for again?” And I have to say, “Oh yeah, me.” Sunday afternoon it involved putting on love (i.e. keeping my mouth shut).

Yesterday it was this voice, “Hey, you keep telling me you want to be consumed and that you want to put your life in My plans in order for my will to be accomplished in all things, but you sure aren’t listening much to what my will is for your life. You keep trying to make all these other things happen. It’d be great if we could sit down a little more often together where I just speak and you just listen.”

“yessir.”
