Uganda // An Invitation

In just under three weeks, a team of 12 people will be leaving Cornerstone Church for a week of work in Buloba, Uganda. Here’s a video that I’ve posted before that will give you a brief snapshot of the story that God is unfolding there.

Our purpose in traveling to Buloba is to be a part of this unfolding story with Buloba Community Church. As a body of believers here in Auburn, we have committed to sending teams of people to encourage the believers in Uganda as well as be encouraged by what is God is doing in the global church. We have seen great community transformation in the last few years through the child sponsorship program that we are a part of there.

On this trip we hope to begin researching some micro-economic possibilities, take part in some discipleship gatherings, continue working on a building that the local church is Buloba is in the process of constructing and just spend time doing life with the body of Christ there. I’m looking forward to being a part of this team and seeing what God does.

One of the primary things we are looking for is people who will pray with us as we go. Prayer specifically for team members and their strength in the journey. Prayer for the tasks that we will be a part of. Prayer for the relationships that will be formed. Prayer for lives that will encounter Jesus for the first time. Prayer for hearts and faces that need to be turned back to him. Prayer for continued direction and obedience.

Secondarily, each team member is raising support financially to make this trip. Pray for us as we walk through that. God always provides for the needs of his people, but that doesn’t mean that the process isn’t challenging to go through.

If you’re interested in partnering with us in prayer or interested in supporting one of team members financially, e-mail me at brian@cornerstonebuzz.org or leave a comment below and I’ll get back to you.

I’ll do my best to update you on the trip leading up to it over the next few weeks, while we are there, and afterward as well.
